Mark Littlewood will depart the IEA at the end of January after a dedicated and distinguished 14-year tenure as Director General and Senior Economics Fellow.

Executive Director Tom Clougherty said:

“Mark is a brilliant communicator of free market ideas and has been a loyal servant of the IEA – and of classical liberalism – for the last decade-and-a-half. I would like to thank him particularly for his support over the last few months, as I have taken up my new position at Lord North Street. Everyone here wishes Mark the best of luck in his future endeavours.”

Mark Littlewood said:

“With Tom Clougherty firmly in place as the new executive director, now seems the right time for me to move on wholly from the IEA. I have some new ventures planned in both the political and media spheres which I would not want to become muddled in any way with the IEA’s vital educational mission.

“The IEA plays a crucial role in public life. For decades, it has been the leading think tank in Britain in developing and spreading free market ideas. I look forward to watching the IEA go from strength to strength under its new leadership and I’ll be cheering them on.”
