Kristian warns that the German ‘rent freeze’ had reduced the number of rental properties coming on the market in Berlin by almost half.
Commenting on housing studies conducted after the rent control measures were implemented, Kristian notes: “The steep drop in supply happens only in Berlin’s rent-controlled sector. It does not happen in comparable German cities (where we actually see an increase in supply)”.
