“GPs are currently providing a poor but expensive service and the Government should not allow itself to be blackmailed into paying significantly more without seeing real improvements.
“More generally, in many countries medical personnel are not allowed to strike. We may well wonder why police officers, facing danger and difficult working conditions on a regular basis, as we’ve seen again this week, cannot strike while doctors can.”
