IEA Head of Lifestyle Economics Christopher Snowdon has been quoted in The Guardian criticising the government’s proposed generational tobacco ban.

Christopher said:

“The ban infantilises one cohort of adults, discriminates on the basis of age and raises issues of intergenerational unfairness…”

With the government also set to crack down on vaping, Christopher also asked:

“Why not allow cigarettes to become obsolete through market forces?”
