Professor Len Shackleton quoted in The Telegraph

Quoted in The Telegraph, IEA Editorial and Research Fellow Professor Len Shackleton expressed concern that the furlough extension could drive business owners to throw in the towel now.

According to Len, announcing the continuation of this form of suspended animation “makes it less and less likely that jobs can be maintained in those organisations most affected.. more and more businesses [may] realise that there is no end in sight and they may as well bite the bullet, dismiss workers and restructure or even close down.”
