The IEA is quoted in the broadcast as:
“The study by the Institute of Economic Affairs found that shutting down the country in Spring 2020 saved just 1,700 lives, which it says is a drop in the bucket compared to the staggering collateral costs imposed.”
Reem Ibrahim, IEA Communications Officer appeared on the show, saying:
“What the report also does show though is that a lot of those voluntary changes in behavior were really what actually mitigated the consequence of the pandemic.”
