IEA Head of Media Emily Carver appeared on BBC Politics Live to discuss the day’s headlines. Emily argued the government had got the balance wrong between protecting the pubic from Covid and infringing peoples freedom and liberty, saying the successful vaccine rollout and low death figures means the extension to lockdown was no longer justified.

Emily also spoke about de-regulation post-Brexit, and the need for the government to be honest about the cost of going net-zero.
