Daniel Hannan referenced new IEA research by Head of Education Dr Stephen Davies, ‘Grounds for Concern: The challenges to free speech in universities‘. Hannan said legislation aimed at punishing universities that have deplatformed speakers is, as Steve Davies argued in his paper “an intrusion of political power into the internal affairs of a private body and would be rightly resisted if it were attempted elsewhere“.
