Tom Clougherty writes for The Times
IEA Executive Director Tom Clougherty has written for The Times making the case for council tax reform.
Tom wrote:
“Council tax is poorly designed. Bodged together in the wake of the poll tax, it is still based on property values from 1991.
“If anything, we should be leaning towards more, but better-designed, tax on residential property.
“So by all means, let’s overhaul council tax so that it works better. But it should remain a tax on residential property.”
