Victoria Hewson, IEA Head of Regulatory Affairs, has been quoted in City AM commenting on a ruling by the Competition and Markets Authority that pushes Meta to sell Giphy. 

Describing the ruling as an “embarrassment” for the CMA, Victoria called on the UK regulator to “use this opportunity to seriously reconsider their original determination.”

Victoria adds:

“This case demonstrates unfair treatment and a damning lack of transparency. The government should have this in mind as it considers the accountability and performance of the CMA, and whether they should be given even more powers.”
