Christopher Snowdon appears on GB News

IEA Head of Lifestyle Economics Christopher Snowdon has appeared on GB News to criticise the government’s latest round of childcare subsidies.

Christopher said:

“We need to be dealing with the problem, which is that childcare is incredibly expensive. Why is [the cost of] childcare twice the OECD average? Why is it six or seven times higher than in Sweden or Germany?

“Rather than tackling the problem – which is that childcare is incredibly expensive – the government is just shifting the cost from one bunch of taxpayers to the other.”
