Prof. Len Shackleton appears on GB News and BBC news

IEA Transport Expert Professor Len Shackleton has appeared on GB News and BBC News to discuss ongoing rail strike action.

Speaking to GB News, Len said:

“The big problem is that the railways are losing money hand over fist. This year, it’ll probably be £9bn that we’re subsidising them by, and of course about £6bn-£7bn on infrastructure which we continue to pay out.

“The fare revenue is only about 2/3rd of what it was before COVID and in that kind of situation, reform, change has got to be on the agenda and the unions just won’t accept this.”
