Christopher Snowdon, Head of Lifestyle Economics at the IEA, writes for the Telegraph, outlining the findings of the 2019 Nanny State Index, which places the UK as one of the most restrictive countries in Europe when it comes to drinking, eating, and smoking.

Chris notes that although the UK has fallen down the rankings slightly since last year, that is because other countries have implemented extreme restrictions on alcohol and vaping, not because the UK has become more liberal.
