Britain is becoming a paternalist’s paradise

IEA Director of Communications Annabel Denham took aim at the Conservative government for unnecessarily over regulating large aspects of our lives in an article for The Telegraph.

She bemoaned regulation on education, food and the labour market citing the Online Safety Bill and recommendations for a new football regulator as examples of excessive state overreach.

She argued: “Far from igniting the “bonfire of red tape”, Johnson is allowing himself to be convinced that the only solution for one intervention is another, with each eroding people’s ability to make decisions for themselves.
