IEA Economics Fellow Julian Jessop has been quoted in an iNews article discussing if Brexit had any real impacts on the UK’s stubborn rate of inflation.

iNews wrote:

“Julian Jessop, economics fellow at the libertarian-leaning Institute of Economic Affairs, says Brexit will have played ‘some part’ in driving UK inflation but says there is ‘little evidence of a significant impact.’

“‘The common factor is the continued pass-through of relatively high energy costs in tight labour markets. Of course, some will blame Brexit for the labour shortages. But this is hard to square with record high net immigration,’ he says.”
