The Government should have come together with the BBC to reach an agreement over free licence fees for the over-75s said Julian Knight MP, Chair of the Digital, Culture, Media, and Sport Select Committee.

The comments reported by the Daily Mirror were made during an IEA webinar on the future of the BBC which touched on the licence fee, BBC neutrality and impartiality, and the role of the BBC in crowding out or building up other providers.
