Writing for City A.M, IEA’s Academic and Research Director Syed Kamall raised concerns that the World Trade Organisation has reported a stark drop in global trade volumes since the coronavirus pandemic began.

Syed said: “Free trade is a cornerstone of the global economy. It has lifted billions out of poverty and enabled the highest living standards than at any point in human history”.

Syed has also released his latest paper of the Institute of Economic Affairs – ‘Freight Expectations: Post-pandemic prospects for global trade’ . The report looks at barriers to global trade and how they could be removed.
