Abolishing speed limits could boost economic growth


IEA research quoted in The Telegraph

IEA Head of Regulatory Affairs Victoria Hewson was quoted in The Daily Telegraph on the potential efficiency gains from abolishing speed limits.

Addressing a recent pledge from Conservative leadership candidate Liz Truss to consider removing the 70mph limit on motorways, the article states:

“The Institute of Economic Affairs said that lifting the speed limit in the UK would allow drivers to apply their own judgment and complete journeys more quickly.”
