While we’ve seen restrictions put on our everyday lives, governments have been “simultaneously engaged in a fairly radical programme of liberalisation in an attempt to keep the economy functioning”, says IEA Director General Mark Littlewood.

Quoted by Dominic Lawson in a comment piece for The Sunday Times, Mark said, “there has been a liberalisation of rules on the hours drivers can work if they are transporting food, key household items or pharmaceuticals”, for example.
