The event will mark the launch of our latest research paper, titled Eastern Promise: Assessing the Future of UK-India Trade and authored by IEA Trade Fellow Shanker Singham.

We will begin with short introductory remarks from each speaker, after which chair and IEA Director General Mark Littlewood will ask questions for approximately 20 minutes before inviting the audience to participate in a Q&A session.

The new research explores the opportunities for a UK-India partnership including a trade deal, access to market for food and drink and other exports, and prospects for a new geopolitical ally in Asia. It examines the main challenges, and progress to date.

Panellists include the paper’s author, Shanker Singham, Ebookers Founder Dinesh Dhamija, Conservative MP Imran Ahmad Khan and Syed Kamall, the IEA’s Acting Academic and Research Fellow.
