We are delighted to invite you to join us for an online webinar discussion with Dr Carlo Stagnaro and Dr Simona Benedettini from 1pm – 2pm on Wednesday 8th April. They will be discussing ‘Coronavirus – The Impact on Energy Markets and the Environment’.

With governments all over the world limiting travel and imposing lockdowns to combat the spread of Coronavirus, we have seen a sudden drop in pollution and green house gas emissions. Alongside this oil prices have fallen to their lowest levels since 2002. Is this just a short term change or will Coronavirus lead to lasting shifts in the way we consume energy? What impact will low oil prices have on renewables and energy markets in general and how will this affect the day to day lives of Europe’s population? Should we welcome the dramatic emissions reduction that is taking place?Dr Carlo Stagnaro, from Italian think tank Istituto Bruno Leoni and former advisor to the Italian government, will be joining Dr Simona Benedettini, Energy Economist, to discuss these important issues.

Places are limited and will be offered on a first come first served basis. If you would like to join us for our first IEA online webinar please RSVP to cstewartlockhart@iea.org.uk by 5pm, Monday 6th April.
