Does Capitalism help or hinder women and what impact are Coronavirus and the lockdown having on this? To what extent are the concepts of Feminism and the Free Market at odds with one another? Recent campaigns have highlighted many of the challenges women are facing with the media focusing on gender pay gaps and glass ceilings. As a result of the lockdown, millions of people are now working from home and many families are having to make do without childcare and schooling. How is this impacting women in particular and are women taking on a disproportionate number of household responsibilities? Is Capitalism the cause of some of the most significant issues facing women or does it provide the solutions to many of these challenges?

Vicky Pryce, the Government’s former Chief Economist and author of Women vs Capitalism: Why We Can’t Have It All in a Free Market will be joining The Spectator’s Kate Andrews and IEA Communications Director Annabel Denham to discuss these important issues.
