IEA's Future of the Right event discussed on Bright Blue's blog

Bartek Staniszewski, a Senior Research Fellow at Bright Blue and a panelist at our recent Future of the Right event has written about the core ideas that define right-wing thought for his think tank’s blog.

Bartek wrote:

“If we don’t stand for freedom, we stand for nothing.” Steve Baker, a mainstay of Westminster politics up until his loss in the recent general election, told the audience of the recent ‘Future of the Right’ panel organised by the Institute of Economic Affairs. But, as charismatic as Steve was on that panel, I am not sure that being right-wing does come down to freedom. As important as freedom is, what distinguishes the right throughout its history is rather something else altogether – value realism.”
