Christopher Snowdon comments for The Guardian
Christopher Snowdon, IEA Head of Lifestyle Economics, has commented in The Guardian on the government’s leaked food strategy, which has drawn anger from many for ignoring Henry Dimbleby’s 2020 proposals.
Dimbleby’s review proposed that the government increase taxes on sugar and salt to fund healthier food for society’s poorest.
However, Christopher argues that Dimbleby had “come up with mad policies” and had been “taken in by activists”.
He urged the government:“Stop asking people to do pointless reviews and come up with policies yourself! These are unforced errors and totally avoidable headaches.”
