Oliver E. Williamson.

Oliver Eaton Williamson was an American economist who is credited with having provided influential contributions to transaction cost economics and the theory of the firm. He received his MBA from Stanford and his Ph.D. from Carnegie Mellon University. He was at different times a professor at the University of California, Berkeley, the University of Pennsylvania, Yale, and the University of Siena. He is one of the most cited authors in the field of social science. He received the Nobel prize in 2009 “for his analysis of economic governance, especially the boundaries of the firm”.
