Emily Carver, IEA Head of Media, has penned an article for Conservative Home on the cost-saving benefits that reducing state influence in planning and energy markets would have.

As Emily highlights, inflation is forecast to hit 7.25% and the tax burden is at its highest for 70 years. With this in mind, policies such as hiking national insurance by 1.25% and pursuing a net zero agenda do not make sense.

“The Conservatives’ dogmatic approach to reaching climate targets must be replaced by a policy agenda that prioritises security and affordability of supply first and foremost. The Government must also rediscover its commitment to lowering the tax burden across the board.”
