How Paternalistic is the UK? | Nanny State Index 2021
Freedom loving Britons cannot rejoice by the news that the UK slipped from the fifth most nannying country to position 12. Britain hasn’t liberalised much, but the rest of Europe became more paternalistic even faster. The Nanny State Index (NSI) is a league table of the worst places in the European Union to eat, drink, smoke and vape. The initiative was launched in March 2016 and was a media hit right across Europe. It is masterminded and led by IEA’s Christopher Snowdon with partners from all over Europe.
