Christopher Snowdon writes for The Telegraph
In an op-ed for The Telegraph, IEA Head of Lifestyle Economics Christopher Snowdon argued that although Covid cases are rising, hospitalisation and deaths are not, meaning there is no convincing case to delay the easing of lockdown restrictions.
Christopher pointed out pubs and hospitality are struggling under existing restrictions, with around 25,000 licensed venues still closed because of the Government’s rule of six, mandatory table service and other social distancing rules.
Christopher said: “It is imperative that all social distancing rules are abolished on 21st June, as Boris Johnson originally suggested. Pubs have shouldered an excessive burden for fifteen months. In two weeks’ time, everything must go”.
