BBC licence fee not fit for purpose


Prof. Philip Booth writes for the New Statesman

In a debate column for the New Statesman, IEA Senior Academic Fellow Prof. Philip Booth argued there is no justification for a TV licence fee in the 21st century.

Philip argued: “The case for a particular broadcaster, owned by the state, to be funded almost entirely by a levy on people who own a television set or stream other live channels via another device even if they do not watch the output of that broadcaster has become untenable“.
