Shankar Singham writes for City AM

IEA Trade Fellow and author of the IEA’s new research paper Eastern Promise: Assessing the Future of UK-India Trade, Shankar Singham, has written an op-ed for City AM highlighting the potential benefits productive trade talks could have for both India and Britain.

Although an in-person summit was cancelled due to Covid cases in India, Boris Johnson and Prime Minister Modi will speak virtually about the future of UK-India cooperation on trade and defence.

Shankar said: “A strong UK-India relationship will help make the UK a more attractive CPTPP (Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership) partner, and will also spur other negotiations“.
