No, NHS staff should not be given a pay rise

“When the wealth-creating part of the economy shrinks, the wealth-consuming part has to tighten its belt”, writes the IEA’s Head of Lifestyle Economics Christopher Snowdon.

In a debate column for City AM, Christopher argues that although “undoubtedly been a difficult and stressful year for frontline medics”, considering  tax revenues are tens of billions down on last year, this is not the time to be considering a pay rise for NHS staff.
