Capitalism is widely recognized as the system of “more”: more wealth, more choice, more progress, more profits. But the pursuit of “more” is widely viewed as greedy, reckless, unsustainable and immoral. Whenever problems arise, Americans have called on government to intervene and curtail to the pursuit of “more.” Businessmen often feel guilty for their success and fail to defend their right to pursue “more.” As a result, the last century has seen unprecedented growth in the size and power of the state. The only way to reverse course and win the battle for less government, Dr. Yaron Brook will argue, is to defend intransigently the profit motive and the virtue of pursuing “more.”

Dr. Yaron Brook is president of the Ayn Rand Center for Individual Rights. He is a columnist at Forbes.com and his articles have been featured in major publications such as the Wall Street Journal, USA Today, and Investor’s Business Daily.  Dr. Brook is often interviewed on radio and is a frequent guest on a variety of national TV programs.  He is co-author of Neoconservatism: An Obituary for an Idea and a contributor to Winning the Unwinnable War: America’s Self-Crippled Response to Islamic Totalitarianism andWhy Businessmen Need Philosophy.  Dr. Brook, a former finance professor, is an internationally sought after speaker on such topics as the causes of the financial crisis, the morality of capitalism, and U.S. foreign policy.
