The IEA is delighted to invite you to attend a Future Freedom Film Screening, aimed at under 30s.

We will be showing the documentary HALF WAY, directed and produced by BAFTA Breakthrough Brit and homelessness activist Daisy-May Hudson, followed by Dr Kristian Niemietz, Head of Health and Welfare at the IEA, on the UK housing crisis.



“HALF WAY is a moving portrait of the UK housing crisis, told through the experience of one family. Filmed over a year, Daisy-May is both director and daughter as her and her family fight to retain their dignity whilst they wait to be rehoused by the council. This is an extraordinary story of courage and determination, a story of family bonds which is both heart-breaking and life affirming, combining moments of tremendous tenderness and grit with some unexpected humour. HALF WAY offers an alternative narrative from the current exhausted media coverage of the housing crisis; it does not, and cannot, shy away from the harsh actualities of homelessness.”

This is event is free to attend and open to all under 30s. The event includes a screening – during which there are pick ‘n’ mix, crisps, popcorn and drinks to enjoy – and the opportunity to hear from Dr Kristian Niemietz on the incredibly timely and important topic of housing. We hope to see many of you there, and we welcome seasoned Film Screening guests and new faces alike!
