    Some of the most clearer options the government should take: 1. Removing courses that are pointless, only allowing universities to charge top rate if the course is proven to increase job prospects. 2. Cutting the interest rate on student debt well below 6%. So far the only sensible thing they’ve done is increase the pay back to above £25,000.

    Make the Universities justify the cost of the course, especially online degrees which are way out of line with the actual costs. Subsidise degrees that benefit the UK by taxing the ones that don’t. Before you know it the price mechanism will have kicked in, people will take online degrees and ones that result in gainfull employment.
