If historic experience is anything to go by, “hopes that this will be over by summer are likely to be shattered”, writes the IEA’s Head of Political Economy Dr Kristian Niemietz.

In an article for CapX, Kristian argues that while protectionism and overly restrictive immigration policies might seem “superficially attractive”, there is no evidence that “attempts to reverse globalisation would make us more resilient.”
