Kate Andrews appears on The Jeremy Vine Show
In the interview Kate argues that these plans fail to address the fundamental structure of the NHS. And it is a structure that is not fit for purpose in 2019. It is a hugely centralised system and what that means is the colossal amounts of money that taxpayers pay every year to fund the NHS, doesn’t tend to follow the patient.
The NHS arguably does need more money but if you look at the successful systems around the world in Europe, Australia, New Zealand – these systems are much more patient-centric. The money follows the patient.
