Jamie Whyte appears on BBC 2 Scotland
In the interview Jamie argues that the firms in question are private firms and what people are paid in those firms is a matter between the companies and the employees. It’s a contractual matter, it’s voluntary – the government’s got no place asking justification for these arrangements.
The people who bear the cost of paying chief executives are the owners of the firm. And if they are willing to pay them a certain amount of money, it’s no one else’s business to question their decision.
