Dr Steve Davies appears on BBC Radio 4's Moral Maze

Dr Steve Davies, Head of Education at the Institute of Economic Affairs has appeared on BBC Radio 4’s Moral Maze to discuss tourism and the morality of holidays.

In the interview Steve argues that to the extent there may be a problem with too much tourism we should rely on the power of government to deal with it. It can be dealt with through private means and mechanisms. Very often the objections to tourism are contradictory because some people object to tourists visiting places for cultural reasons and some people object to the kind of mass resorts you get around the Mediterranean. What lies behind both of these objections is a lot of people feel their preferences are not shared by lots of other people and they want to stop people from doing them.
