Kristian Niemietz appears on BBC Radio Surrey
In the interview Kristian argues that in terms of health outcomes the NHS is consistently lagging behind comparable systems, especially in western Europe and other developed countries. The UK has lower cancer survival rates, lower stroke survival rates, higher rates of avoidable deaths particularly when it comes to respiratory diseases and longer waiting times.
We need to recognise that universal access to healthcare is not unique to the NHS anymore.
