Liz Truss could be the most radical prime minister in a century


Ahead of the announcement of the new Conservative party leader and next Prime Minister, IEA Director General Mark Littlewood wrote for The Sunday Telegraph about frontrunner Liz Truss MP.

Mark notes that Truss’ changing position on the EU reflects “a consistent application of her underlying principles to changing circumstances” and that she wishes to move Britain “in a liberalising, more market-oriented direction”.

However, he notes that Liz has barely two years until the next election and the number of urgent problems in the No 10 inbox is growing by the day. She will therefore need to “hit the ground sprinting”.
