Kate Andrews appears on BBC Radio 5 Live

Kate Andrews, News Editor at the Institute of Economic Affairs has appeared on BBC Radio 5 Live to discuss the economic case for free markets following Theresa May’s speech in defence of free markets.

In the interview Kate argues that free market capitalism is the best, most efficient system of creating wealth and prosperity that mankind has been able to come up with. That doesn’t make it perfect but compared with the alternative of socialism there is no question here about which works best. Since the reforms post the socialist agenda of the 1970s, average incomes in the UK have doubled since 1977. The UK has undoubtedly become more prosperous post-liberalisation and under a more free-market structure.
