Julian Jessop writes for The Telegraph

Julian Jessop, Chief Economist at the Institute of Economic Affairs has written for The Telegraph on whether or not the UK should stay in the customs union after we leave the EU.

In the article Julian argues that a temporary extension of membership of the Customs Union until the end of 2020 may be a good bridge to something better, without preventing the UK from leaving the Single Market in March 2019. This would ensure that Brexit means Brexit, or something close to it, from day 1. However, permanent membership of the Customs Union is absolutely not where we want to end up.
