Julian Jessop writes for The Telegraph

Julian Jessop, Chief Economist at the Institute of Economic Affairs has written for The Telegraph following the news that the UK government is planning for the event of a ‘no deal’ in Brexit negotiations with the EU.

In his article Julian makes the point that the UK needs to be prepared to walk away if the EU is unwilling to show more urgency and flexibility. A well-managed transition leading to a comprehensive free trade agreement would probably be better than ‘no deal’. But if the EU is unwilling to play ball, a clean break in 2019 could still be the next best outcome.
