Kate argues that publishing the data is meaningless in most respects because the figures are a very crude measure and don’t differentiate by job role, age, experience, hours worked, and so on.
Producing these statistics, that go into the public domain without context, doesn’t tell the public anything about a company’s attitude towards women in the workplace.
