Kate Andrews appears on the Coffee House podcast
In the interview Kate argues that a cash injection may help in the short term but not the long term. The way the demographics are moving in the UK, there is always going to be a call for more money. We have more people retiring and more people living longer, therefore the burden on the working age population is going to increase.
Cash injections won’t improve healthcare outcomes and support demographic changes – promising more funding is a political game.
Funding is a secondary issue to the primary issue which is the structure of the NHS system as it is now.
