Mark Littlewood writes for The Times
Mark writes his fortnightly column on the importance of choice in raising standards in education. Recent IEA publication ‘School Choice Around the World’ features a collection of essays which look at different countries and examine the role of markets in improving outcomes for children.
Mark notes that devolution enables us to compare England – with its academies and free schools programme – to other regions of the UK and results show improvements in the number of “good” and “outstanding” schools, as well as an increase in the number of students from disadvantaged backgrounds attending university.
