Shanker Singham comments in The Telegraph
In the article Shanker is quoted as saying that in the case of protecting British farmers, the Government could have adopted a first-come-first-served quota system of imports for foods such as dairy and beef, a mechanism known in the WTO lexicon as Erga Omnes.
This would allow import volumes to be calibrated, keeping the market in balance and prices steady.
