    It does seem particularly odd that having cut interest rates in response to an expected post-Brexit vote growth slump (which never came remotely close to materialising), the BoE hasn’t put them up again at least to where they were when it is forecasting above-target inflation in the near future.

    The only reason I can think why they aren’t doing this is because they don’t want to admit that the cut was a mistake. Can anyone think of another explanation?
