Director General John Blundell responds to Steve Waters piece in The Guardian

Steve Waters’s piece on thinktanks is timely and accurate. Global companies are buying up thinktanks left, right and centre. Large cheques come attached to particular policy recommendations and senior corporate types sit on committees ready to “candle snuff” dangerous ideas. Our trustees maintain our policy of independence from political parties and vested interests. We refuse to accept money from public corporations directly linked to policy areas or outcomes. We seek the broadest possible base of support from corporations, foundations and individuals, with no one donor or group of donors exercising undue influence on our work by dint of the size of their financial support.
