Camilla Goodwin appears on BBC Five Live
In the interview, Camilla makes the point that there is a strong case for streamlining Whitehall, which would reduce the need for such drastic budget cuts. A huge amount of overlap exists between various government departments, such as the Department for International Development and the Foreign and Commonwealth Office. Reducing the number of departments would see public money go much further.
Camilla also argues that it is common practice for private companies to frequently review their costs and there is no clear reason why the government can’t adopt a similar model.
